To equality, and equal legal protection-The constitution of Trinidad and Tobago affirms that the nation is “founded on...faith in...the dignity of the human person and the equal and inalienable rights with which all members of the human family are endowed by their Creator” and it recognises “without discrimination by reason of race, origin, colour, religion or sex.”S.4(b) of the Constitution of Trinidad and Tobago guarantees 'the right of the individual to equality before the law and the protection of the law.' S.4(d) of the Constitution of Trinidad and Tobago 'the right of the individual to equality of treatment from any public authority in the exercise of any functions.' To life, liberty, security of the person, and bodily integrity- s.4(a) of the Trinidad and Tobago Constitution S.4(c) states 'the right of the individual to respect for his private and family life.
